STAND AND DELIVER

Stand-up comedy and presentation skills for students, helping improve their communication and confidence

The length and content of workshops can be adapted for children and young people in all Key Stages

Today’s young people have many exciting prospects ahead of them. Next level technology, as well as jobs that haven’t even been invented yet - not to mention the latest TikTok dance craze.

One thing that remains constant, though, is the need for confident communicators and creative thinkers. Employers are actively seeking those who can ‘think outside the box’ and are solution-focused. Applicants who are emotionally intelligent and understand the dynamics of teamwork.

And that’s where we come in, helping your students develop the skills they need to engage an audience and share their ideas in a creative way.

So whether they’re preparing for an interview, a presentation or even the English Speaking Board exam, your students will have a toolkit to use to help them engage their audience and keep them entertained. No more snoring through another boring PowerPoint.

Here’s what you (and your students) can expect

  • Strategies to become a more engaging speaker, so their audience is interested and entertained from the start
  • Demystifying what being funny is - it’s not something you’re born with, it’s a skill that can be learned
  • Improved confidence, communication and listening skills - something all potential employers are looking for
  • Ways to bring content to life in a way that entertains an audience, saving future generations from death by PowerPoint

What your students will get by the end

  • An ability to engage an audience and keep them entertained - increasing their chances of success at interviews or when presenting projects/coursework
  • Presentation/performance skills - giving them greater competence in speaking and listening
  • Increased confidence to speak in front of groups of people - no more dry mouths and jelly legs.
  • Tools for thinking quickly and differently - making them indispensable to future employers.
The students got so much out of the sessions and it really lightened the mood with one of our year groups in particular who are really struggling with resilience – which is no mean feat!!! We look forward to welcoming you back next year.
