Menopause training for primary schools
With a large majority of the primary school workforce being women, it’s crucial that schools provide support and guidance on the often-taboo subject of menopause, and that’s just what Nechells Primary School did.
Stephanie Davies, CEO of Laughology and Head of Happiness, was invited to deliver an interactive and engaging workshop for all teachers and the wider school team on the physical and emotional changes associated with menopause. Our Hot Damn! Menopause awareness workshop was a half-day session, providing tips and strategies for managing symptoms at work and home and helping people understand how to help and support people going through menopause and the signs and symptoms to recognise.
The workshops provide a safe space for everyone to ask open questions and share experiences and challenges openly, helping to break down stigma and create a supportive and inclusive environment.
The Head Teacher was delighted with the training and emailed to say,
“I would just like to say a huge 'Thank You' for the training session delivered to the Nechells team on Monday of this week. The feedback has been so positive with you making an impact on all staff that joined this. It was such a fun but informative training session that will be remembered for a long time!
The first section of the training focussing on raising awareness, understanding and respect for the menopause was more than we were hoping to achieve, and then the last session enabled the team to appreciate, with more understanding, the need for psychological safety and how to achieve this was very much welcomed by the team and will support and equip them with the knowledge that they need for years to come.
The session delivered was such fun, and many colleagues have advised that they had not had a 'belly laugh' for such a long time, and this was just what was needed to boost their well-being!”
