Being part of an academy means you have loads of brilliant brains to pick, and LAPSW brains are growing all the time.  

With many schools joining and new headteachers and senior team members, getting to know each other even better was a must.  Our Stephanie Davies was able to help by spending two days in the glorious sunshine in Portsmouth, where all the schools’ headteachers and senior teams came together.  

Day one was all about getting to know yourself and understanding yourself in order to understand others. Using Insights Discovery was the perfect tool to do this. Armed with their colours, the Senior team explored what makes them tick and what doesn’t. Day two was with the wider group learning all about personal resilience and how to use this to lead a brilliant school. 

Everyone left the two days with personal commitments to help support their own wellbeing and that of the school. Three weeks later, everyone came back together via Zoom to talk through what had been tried and its impact. With everything from creating psychologically safe spaces for teachers to getting back into exercise, everyone had put one thing into practice.
