Growth mindset pupil workshop at Haberdasher’s Hatcham College

Laughology

As part of their PSHE day for all students, Haberdasher’s Hatcham College had a visit from two of our Happy-Centred Schools facilitators, Selina and Alison.

Five Year 9 classes took part in 90-minute sessions focusing on growth mindset: why it’s important and when do we need it? The groups were curious and inquisitive, taking part in multiple different activities and games, with a paper aeroplane contest being a highlight! The Haberdasher’s students learned new facts about how our brain works and why we display certain behaviours. Alison and Selina also shared strategies for how to recognise and cope with the traps of falling into a fixed mindset, and there were some great contributions to the presentations delivered at the end of each session.

These presentations highlighted the strategies the children already possessed to help themselves and their peers when stuck in a fixed mindset.

Win-win!

If you’re interested in our growth mindset workshop for pupils - or any other workshops for that matter - get in touch with our Doug, and he’d be happy to help you develop a session that’s right for your school.
