POWERED BY LAUGHOLOGY
TO US - TO YOU
In the past, the educational and business sides of Laughology were joined at the hip, much like the Chuckle Brothers. They’ve shared everything, including a name and a website - but not any more. Oh no!
The educational side has made a break for it and, drum roll please, we’re delighted to introduce you to ‘Happy Centred Schools’, the go-to place for:
- Information about training sessions in schools, colleges and unis
- Educational blogs
- Free primary school mental health and wellbeing resources
- Photos of Laughologists – sorry, but they insisted!
Why is it so important for us to fly the flag for all-things-education? Well, it’s more than tittering teams and chuckling children.
Happy adults = happy kids. Not quite the Pythagorean theorem, but we like it.
Happy adults
Just like our mothership, Laughology, we believe resilience, coping skills and positive thinking can be taught through humour, laughter and lots of lovely workshops.
No one is happy all the time and teaching isn’t all daisy chains and unicorns. It can be a tough gig.
Which is why learning to recognise when things are going well and building on the positives is important. So is recognising when things aren’t going so swimmingly and having strategies in place to help you cope.
We call this realistic happiness. Develop it in your school and you will boost loyalty, productivity and problem-solving skills.
You may also find more people offer to do extra wet break duties, pick the fox poo up off the playground and clean the microwave in the staffroom (although we can’t offer any guarantees).
Happy kids
In the UK, child life satisfaction scores are declining. In the 2020 Children’s Worlds Survey, 10-year-olds in England were ranked 23rd out of 35 countries when asked to rate their satisfaction with student life.
Boosting happiness can break the cycle of limiting beliefs and low self-esteem that stifle aspiration and hamper learning and achievement. In addition, happier children:
- feel safer
- make and maintain positive relationships
- learn more easily
- engage more with school life
Our fantastic children’s facilitators help pupils to understand that everyone will experience sadness, anxiety, fear and other negative emotions in life. And that it’s natural.
They also teach children and young people ways that they can help themselves and others to overcome adversity and develop a positive attitude and mindset. All while having a bit of a titter!
Still powered by Laughology
Yes, Happy Centred Schools has put on her big girl pants and made a break from the mothership, Laughology. But, for those of you stifling a small sob … don’t worry! Our educational side has been raised well and learnt everything she knows from her mum. All sessions contain the laughter, humour and fun that help people to learn, make strong connections and remember what’s been said. And, as always, they’re underpinned by the latest research, psychology and neuroscience. Just as you’d expect!
All sessions are delivered by our brilliant team of Laughologists, who have backgrounds in education, comedy and psychology. You can read about them and see them in action on their biog pages.
