A LITTLE BIT ABOUT KERRY LEIGH
Kerry Leigh has been a professional comedian and compere for over 20 years and was the child star of the Operation board game TV ads. She has a deep appreciation of stationery and is particularly happy when she has a good quality notebook in her hand.
Kerry’s not-so-horrible history
Kerry is one of our most experienced and sought-after consultants and facilitators, having joined Laughology in its infancy. She has a talent for quickly building rapport with any group and is a captivating trainer and host.
Kerry was instrumental in designing and delivering our pioneering menopause awareness workshops, empowering staff to start conversations and implement support strategies for what had been previously a taboo subject at work. These are becoming especially popular in schools.
Each year, Laughology works with a charity to raise money by teaching stand-up comedy skills to people, culminating in a hugely entertaining performance night. Kerry has provided the training for these events in recent years, as well as compering them.
Kerry uses her own comedy skills to consistently deliver, using humour and laughter to ensure people take away new ways of thinking and tools to improve wellbeing, communication and performance.
Her excellent knowledge of psychology enables her to deliver across the spectrum of Laughology courses and workshops. She is currently training to achieve a Diploma in Psychotherapy.
Kerry has worked with many different schools, as well as colleges and universities, including:
- Flakefleet Primary, St Georges International School and Cardiff University - FLIP-it Thinking
- Devonshire Primary and Edgewick Community Primary - Bringing out the best in every child
- Ripley Infant and Highfurlong SEN School – Wellbeing
- Sandwell College- The psychology of humour and laughter; Presentation skills
- City of Glasgow College - Menopause awareness
- Berkhamsted Independent School - Stand up for confidence
And finally…
When Kerry sees a rainbow, she’s like a toddler on E numbers. She also loves the number 2 and was very excited at 22.22 on the 22.2.22. Having said this, she likes other numbers and natural phenomena too and will happily rock up to events whatever the time, date or weather.
